PRODUCT DATA SHEET
PM-400Breathable Floor Coating
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
PM-400 is a new generation, zero VOC, epoxy coating, which exhibits exceptional properties previously unavailable with waterborne products. PM-400 meets the performance standards, including chemical, abrasion and impact resistance of traditional heavy-duty industrial epoxy floor coatings. PM-400 will perform in areas where heavy-duty industrial floor coatings could not previously be used. Extremely low odor, PM-400 can usually be installed during work hours. It can be installed over damp concrete or over porous concrete. PM-400 virtually eliminates pinholes caused by concrete gassing. It is highly resistant to hydrostatic delamination. PM-400 has lustrous finish but more slip resistant than high gloss finishes. FEATURES
TYPICAL USEUse PM-400 Epoxy Coating wherever a durable, easy to clean, chemical and abrasion resistant floor finish is required. Due to its unique formulation, it is particularly well suited for floors in wet areas as well as on grade or below grade floors where moisture vapor emission is less than 10 lbs./1000 square feet per 24 hours. Coating should not exceed 20 wet mils in two coats in these areas. Choose PM-400 Epoxy coating to reduce maintenance costs, dust proof and brighten warehouses, manufacturing areas, machine shops, automotive repair facilities, locker rooms and showers. It provides excellent protection for concrete floors in breweries where the floors are continuously damp or wet. INSTALLATIOINThe performance of any floor coating is highly reliant upon proper preparation of the substrate. Substrate must be free of all contamination such as latence, curing compounds, dirt, oil and grease. Preferred surface texture is similar to 100-grit sandpaper. Contact Tele-Tech for advice on coating previously coated substrates. PM-400 Epoxy Coating is normally roller applied with a _" nap, mohair roller at a rate of 160 square feet per gallon per coat. Two coats are recommended but additional coats may be installed for improved durability. For ultra violet protection a coat of PM-800 waterborne aliphatic urethane can be installed at 6-8 wet mils. Under standard conditions (75° F, 55% RH), PM-400 has a pot life of 3 hours with a recoat time of 4 hours. (Contact Tele-Tech at 1-800-459-7659 for assistance in determining specific thickness, preparation and application methods) PACKAGINGPM-400 is normally packaged in 4-gallon kits. Recommended coverage is 640 square feet per kit. Other package sizes are also available by special order with minimum quantity restrictions,. CAUTIONPolyMax Systems are intended for use by professional applicators only. Although safe if properly handled, all personnel who are exposed to any chemical must read, completely understand and comply with all precautions and warnings on label and MSDS prior to use. STORAGEFor best shelf life, store PM-400 in a dry area at temperatures between 50° F and 90° F. Protect product from freezing. Minimum shelf life is one year from date of manufacture when properly stored. LIMITATIONSDo not install on wet (standing water) floors, in areas receiving direct sun light or where floor will be affected by drafts during curing process. Avoid use where ambient operating temperatures exceed 170° F, or application temperatures are below 65° F or above 90° F. COMPLIANCESZero VOC, PM-400 is compliant with all state and local air quality standards. CHEMICAL RESISTANCEUnlike conventional waterborne or emulsion epoxies, PM-400 Epoxy contains no latex. It is far more resistant to most common industrial chemicals and solvents as well as impact and abrasion than conventional waterborne epoxies. An abbreviated list of chemical resistance and physical properties follows. For more comprehensive chemical resistance analysis, contact Tele-Tech at 1-800-459-7659.
